The Ennswiesen

The wide land of the Ennswiesen reaches through the entire Valley, called "Ennstal", Styria/Austria. From time to time its only divided from some public roads, are connected from town to town. Maybe that's why it is called in plural (meadows), instead of singular. Anyway, a part of it is right at the front of the doorsteps from "". Indeed, it iss such a pleasure to walk or to bike through this grassland, which is owned from diverse small farmers. What that place makes so special, are all these straw huts which you can find all over the entire madows. The locals and the visitors of the Ennswiesen were very happy, when the federal government announced these little straw cabons to historial monuments. That means, that every land owner, is getting each year a certain amount of aid money from the federal Government. Isn't that neat :) ? We have some of these beautiful eye catcher for you here in this photo tour. Right through these meadows, the "Enns" a beautiful river with cristal clear water in it, is winding its way along. The mayor part of these images we've shot in the area between Liezen, Wörschach, Irdning, Öblarn and Stainach. By courtesy, they opened their properties for the public. If you are near to that area, we highly recommend you to at least a small hike or bike. If you love nature and if you love being on quiet places - we bet, you won't regret it!
